We don’t take trust lightly.
In places where decisions are often made behind closed doors, where power can be concentrated in the hands of a few, and where public input is sometimes treated as a formality rather than a foundation, The Pasadena Project Inc. was created to be different.
How We Operate
Every dollar raised, every decision made, every partnership we form is guided by a simple question:
Does this benefit the people of Pasadena fairly, honestly, and without bias?
Here’s how we keep ourselves accountable:
- No Private Agendas: Board members and volunteers are required to disclose conflicts of interest. We do not funnel resources to private causes, businesses, or friends of the organization.
- Community First: Projects are selected based on need, impact, and alignment with our mission—not on who knows who.
- Public Feedback: We welcome feedback—even the hard kind. We’re committed to learning, adapting, and doing better.
A Different Kind of Leadership
We’ve seen what happens when leadership is driven by ego, personal gain, or fear of change. It’s ineffective and it’s harmful. It creates division, discourages participation, and makes residents feel powerless in their own neighborhoods.
That’s not what we’re here for.
We’re not building a kingdom. We’re building a network—a flexible, collaborative effort that depends on trust, accountability, and a shared commitment to making Pasadena stronger.
Holding Ourselves Accountable
If we ever fall short, we expect to be called out. We respect critique. Transparency means being open to hard questions and being willing to answer them honestly.
We may not always get it right the first time, but we will always act in good faith. That’s our promise.
If you’ve been burned by other groups before, we understand your skepticism. We’ve been there too. But we believe that with the right values, the right structure, and the right people—we can do this differently.
And we’re ready to prove it.
