It started with a group of Pasadenians sitting around, asking a simple question:
Why does it take forever to get anything done?
We figured it out.
The world moves fast, and our communities are still operating under rules written before the internet was part of daily life. Change feels distant, stuck behind outdated processes, slow-moving boards, and structures that don’t reflect what people actually need.
We embarked on a journey to find something different—something that could respond quickly, act transparently, and stay focused on the people, not the politics. We couldn’t find it. We were forced to involve ourselves with stagnant community associations with shady leadership and tone-deaf goals, with poor work ethics.
We wanted our own identity.
So, we created one.
We stepped away from the traditional fundraising models. We stopped trying to squeeze impact out of old systems that weren’t built for us. And we started something new: The Pasadena Project Inc.
We’re a nonprofit, officially 501(c)(3) and registered with the secretary of state as a charitable organization.
And we’re built to do things differently.
Right now, we fund small but meaningful projects. We host events that bring people together. We show up when it matters, and we’re not afraid to experiment if it means we can get things done. We’re new, and we’re building something special so we expect to fall down a few times. We were just founded in late 2025, and our budget isn’t big but our reach will be.
If you’ve been waiting for something like this—us too.
Let’s build a better community, one wave at a time.
